I will post my weekly cash lineup on Monday

Week 17

Cash Team

My thoughts on building Week 17.

At QB, I was locked on Trevor Lawrence from the start.  The 49ers destroyed the Colts secondary in week 16 and the Jags have won six straight in which Lawrence is fantasy’s overall QB1 during that six-week run.

At RB, I was really uncomfortable.  The toilet bowl game featured two RB's that projected well.  With both teams playing to lose, I wasn't sure I would take either.  I couldn't take the risk of Jeanty going off against a Giants defence that gifts points to the RB position (and is playing to lose).

I wasn't a fan of the RB position in general.  I decided to save some salary and took a chance on Gainwell.  The Steelers have motivation to win.  They ran a play throwing a deep ball to him in week 16 and being the passing down back with Metcalf out, I liked the game plan for him.

At WR, this was the ideal setup for Chase.  The game has the highest game total and the guy has been asking for TD's in interviews all week.

Olave is coming off a heater, landing WR1 in week 16.  Facing the Titans defence that is beatable through the air and with no one else to throw the ball to, Olave was an easy click.

I needed to save salary and for my third WR, I went value hunting.  Maye is in the MVP race and only has two weeks left to win it.  I flag planted him in my GPP article so there wasn't a better way to find some fantasy points than to take one of his cheaper WR's.

At TE, I had no choice but to go with a double TE lineup again. This combination has more than paid for itself this year, why divert from a winning formula.  In week 16, Trey McBride led the pass catchers with a 26% target share, including 100% of their red-zone looks.  Facing the Bengals in a shootout scenario, I couldn't pass on it.

Missing Brock Bowers, Michael Mayer looked to be on the field for most of the game.  At 2500, he opened up so many doors at other positions.  Click.

DST, In the past couple weeks, I have lost a few matches due to the DST position.  I was spending some money this week.  I tried to find a way up to the Patriots but I couldn't get there.  Cleveland is just terrible.  Facing a motivated Steelers team in a low scoring affair,  I liked it.

Overall, I am satisfied to be back on the winning side of things. I won my fantasy league championship game, crushed Head to Heads and finished strong on the GPP side of things as well.  Simply Lovely.
