Power plays - week 8

Here are the Week 8 power plays that create clear narratives, salary relief where needed, and access to ceiling outcomes in a bye-heavy slate.

Bucs @ Saints

Rattler double stack

Spencer Rattler with Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed is a cost-efficient way to open premium spend elsewhere, and Tampa Bay’s defense has allowed explosive passes while entering this game shorthanded in the front seven. Olave’s volume profile is elite and matches Tampa Bay’s tendency to concede 20+ yard completions, while Shaheed’s role thrives in these explosive environments, making the double a coherent story if Tampa jumps ahead and Rattler is forced to push the ball deep. This stack allows you to play one of the premium RBs in eruption spots. It is by no means a comfortable click with Rattler, but he has been somewhat productive to date.

Baker to Egbuka

Baker Mayfield with Emeka Egbuka, with an Olave bring-back, leverages a Saints pass-funnel profile while Tampa’s WR core consolidates targets without Mike Evans and Chris Godwin.
Egbuka practiced in a limited fashion this week but if fully good to go projects as the X replacement and target leader again with Evans/Godwin out. plus this is a dome game.

Giants @ Eagles

Hurts to Smith

With A.J. Brown seemingly ruled out, Jalen Hurts to DeVonta Smith concentrates alpha targets and air yards, and the Giants have haemorrhaged production to wideouts in 2025.
Brown’s hamstring absence vaults Smith into WR1 usage territory, and multiple outlets confirm the out tag, making this one of the week’s cleanest ceiling consolidations.
Philadelphia’s staff tweaks and matchup dynamics create a high-ceiling passing lane, and Smith’s recent spike underscores his ceiling.

Bears @ Ravens

Lamar with Derrick Henry

Lamar Jackson paired with Derrick Henry captures essentially every Ravens touchdown in a must-win spot, consolidating red-zone equity while preserving ceiling if the offense leans on its stars.
Injury traffic elsewhere on the slate increases the relative value of bankable TD capture; in tighter games this pairing remains live through rushing scores and goal-line usage.
This pairing functions as correlation-plus access to unique roster construction among high-salary stacks on a bye-heavy week.

Jets @ Bengals

Flacco to Chase

Joe Flacco to Ja’Marr Chase is a volume and matchup sledgehammer with Sauce Gardner and Garrett Wilson ruled out, collapsing New York’s coverage ceiling and offensive bring-back viability.
Flacco has delivered efficient TD production across two starts, and the Jets’ pressure/sack metrics are poor, setting up clean pockets and sustained target firehosing to Chase (23 targets in week 7!).
Given New York’s injuries and QB uncertainty, a bring-back isn’t necessary; the Bengals’ offense can condense through Chase with secondary stacking options like Tee Higgins if Flacco really hits his ceiling.

Single Power Plays

Special shout out to JT and Bijan who are both in smash spots this week and capable of 40 balls. Unfortunately Draft Kings have finally started pricing appropriately. Bo Nix also gets whipping boys Dallas this week, the cowboys D couldn't stop my grandparents from scoring a TD.
