Love, CMC and the Detroit Shootout: Building a Week 7 Cash Core Around the Best Game on the Board
Packers at Lions carries the week's highest total at 53.5, the 49ers are without Mike Evans, Deebo Samuel and Ricky Pearsall, and the Rams are down Davante Adams with Puka Nacua on the wrong side of questionable. The salaries are fair. The injury reports are where this slate gets decided.
Week 7 is a 10-game main slate with Cincinnati, Detroit, Miami and Minnesota's byes already priced in, and the pricing is more forgiving than the last few weeks. Four games sit at 48.5 or higher: Packers at Lions (53.5), 49ers at Falcons (49.5), Rams at Raiders (48.5) and Bengals at Ravens (48.5). At the other end, Browns at Titans is the lowest total of the week at 37.5, and Dolphins at Jets is 38.5 to 39.5 depending on the book. That split is the whole strategy: spend in the shootouts, and attack the quarterbacks who are about to get sacked in the games nobody wants to play.
The caution is the injury list. Nacua (calf), Lamar Jackson (ankle), Baker Mayfield (thumb), Breece Hall (quad) and Jordan Love (back) all carry question marks, and several of our favorite value plays depend on how they resolve. We have flagged every one in the Check Before Lock callouts below.
